A typical BOTOX appointment takes just 15–30 minutes. After a brief consultation to review your medical history and goals, your specialist will make a series of small injections into targeted areas of the face.

We will ask you to make a few expressions using your upper face, such as frowning, squinting, and smiling, to help us determine the best location for your injections.
Your face will be prepared, and BOTOX will be injected under the skin using a fine needle. This is followed by a cool compress to help reduce bruising, swelling, and discomfort. You can ask for a numbing cream to help make the procedure more comfortable, but it usually is not needed. BOTOX treatments typically take around 10 to 15 minutes, after which you can return to your usual day with no required recovery period.

You should sleep with your head propped up for at least one night and avoid touching your face, which can accidentally spread the BOTOX to other areas. The injected sections of your face can become red, bruised, or swollen for a couple of days, but you should not have any long-lasting or serious side effects.
In most cases, it typically takes around one week for the final results of BOTOX to become visible. The results generally last 3 to 4 months. You can discuss with your BOTOX injector when to schedule a follow-up appointment to maintain your results.
